The Importance Of Motorcycle Batteries
Sunday, December 5th, 2010All you need to do is ask any person that owns a motorcycle and they will state that its all about the power when it comes to this and many people will say this has a lot to do with the motorcycle batteries that are within the bike itself.
The Two Types
You will find that there are two major types of motorcycle batteries out there, the conventional ones and the maintainance free ones and which one you choose does actually make a difference, and a big difference at that!. You will find that each of these batteries have their own different ways of care and you need to know how to look after each one of them. you need to know that if you are choosing the one that does not make sense then it is a waste of time.
whilst the maintenance free batteries take very little time spent on them once the initial set up has been completed (hence the name) the conventional batteries need water and battery acid and it is important to note this, there are performance issues too!
A few Tips
when the battery first arrives or you go out and buy one you need to know that they are only charged around 80% which means you will need to actually top them off with more charge before they are installed.
You always need to make sure that you buy something that is gone by the name of a volt meter as this actually checks the batteries charge and this will make sure the battery is able to start the bike.
If you really get into your bike then it might be worth experimenting with things like lithium golf batteries and leisure batteries to see how they run on things.
you always need to make sure you follow the right steps when it comes to installing the battery to ensure it works fine and you do not danger yourself!
