"The Age of Innocence"

In the sixties were a time of great distress and confusion. However, despite all negative events, which will take place at the age of innocence. There was an unpopular war through to a vast ocean in a country that few people very little news. A country that had been at war with France and had been at war for generations, a country the United States in trying to help to bring democracy has become tangled in its internal affairs, with unpleasant results.

It At one time there were demonstrations across the country, dividing the country. But it was without a time rich in charm and grace, a time of innocence where the hippies, the flower people of the hand while demonstrating against the war. I was the time to give care era, a time to forgive. The hippie philosophy was to love your neighbor, not to meddle in the affairs of other countries and smoke herbal.

There was a time when war, causing thousands of dollars lives with nothing to show but a black marble wall in Washington DC with over fifty-eight thousand names in it. Once members family gathered at the weekend BBQ to discuss the war was unpopular, and solicit their ideas about the doubts that I had to come.

We had the youngest president ever elected, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. A man with short cut across the ball of crazy dreams, "whose ideology and twisted agenda will never know. They are supposed to have been the age of "Camelot" in this country. This was a period in history our country when I was going through transition and everyone was full of uncertainties. A time when democracy was on the top and the rights of people tested. The war had a serious negative impact on the economy and cause a significant gap between our younger generations.

It was the time the Supremes, Otis Redding, prints and many other groups that help our youth and our nation, regardless of the war, dancing and happy. A hot love was when everyone cares about each other. It was the age of innocence.

During the war I was still in high school. I worked part time as a boy of values of a Mom, Dad and Pharmacy earn ten dollars a week. Out of my salary, I able to pay two dollars a week to wash my mother had bought, and still enough to take my girlfriend to the movies on weekends.

However, when I saw my best friends home in body bags, I decided to do my part in sharing the responsibility of going to Vietnam. I attended many funeral of a friend who went to school, spend time and went to parties. Then I realized I could not accommodate the arms crossed while my friends were killed in a foreign country.

I shot my father and the mother of one side and I told them I needed to make a difference that will not stand by while watching my friends die. Both my parents did not liked the idea, but after explaining to students the importance of helping my country they understood.

This was a warm period during the school summer holidays in July 1962. Most fire hydrants throughout the city were opened for young children trying to stay calm. I was desperate, it was hot and nothing to do. Most of my friends had already left and joined the army. Most had gone to Vietnam. On July 11, 1962, I decided to go to central station army recruitment in lower Manhattan, Whitehall Street.

After a series of educational and psychological tests, I took my oath. I was proud that day because the more days I was going to the basis of Army Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. When the day finally arrived, I was filled with gratitude upon learning it would make my part in fighting alongside my body.

Step Sixteen weeks in training. The first eight weeks of training infantry base, the last eight weeks of training in advance of infantry. I graduated and went to Fort Benning, Georgia, where he trained as a paratrooper.

After graduating from parachute school I went to the elite 101. Airborne Division, Company C 327 Infantry Battalion of the First Brigade of the Screaming Eagles "Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
