Road Trip to Four Corners: Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah,

To plan your journey by road may not be able to travel to the four around Earth in one lifetime, but a road trip across the United States is certainly achievable! Be sure to make this trip in places "to visit list because it is the only place in America where four states meet.

BEST TIME TO VISIT: An excellent time to plan a trip on the Route to this region in the fall because the landscape red, orange and brown colors remind you of autumn. Late Spring is also nice as is Summer, If you have a tolerance of dry heat and have an ample supply of bottled water.

What States meet and where? Colorado's southwest, northwest New Mexico, Arizona and north-east south-eastern Utah. There is even a "Four Corners Monument to mark place. Hand, hand, foot, foot and is officially in four states at once.

What type of land can expect to find? The Four Corners is actually part of the Grand Circle (which includes the Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion Canyon National Park, Capitol Reef, Natural Bridges, Hovenweep, Arches National Park). What we find is plains stretching to the horizon in shades of gold. Reddish and plateaus of land jutting chaos in ways yet curiously standard. This land is very old, the land of American Indians, a western border located in an arid landscape and fall.

What kind of activities can I do? This region offers such a variety that is a great trip for families, couples or group friends, so you'll have no trouble filling your Road Trip Planner with activities suited to their age and activity level. Explore places like archaeological digs, cliff dwellings, historic railroads, and western cities. Two angles are on the Navajo Nation and Ute Mountain Indian Reservation. You also find a multitude of national parks in this region.

Main developments in southwestern Colorado: Cortez is considered the archaeological center of America and is near the National Park Mesa Verde. This is the first national park preserve the works of people, in this case, the ancient Pueblo and its history spans 14 centuries. FESTIVAL: Check out the festivals happening all throughout the year in this region that the Mesa Verde Country Food, Wine & Art Festival, the 9th Annual Mesa Verde Country Indian Arts & Festival culture, or the Ute Mountain-Mesa Verde Birding Festival.

HIGHLIGHTS OF NORTH-WEST NEW MEXICO: A different flavor is in southwestern New Mexico. The low population density with a strong combination of Spanish cultures, Mexican and Native American, parts of New Mexico in May and give an idea of what the pioneers were to lay eyes on this mountain wilderness. Farmington is the closest town of Four Corners, but I would add Santa Fe and Albuquerque, calendar Travel on the road to enjoy different environments are found here. Bonus Activity: take a ride on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway, tram Throughout the air the world and glide over deep canyons and land breathtaking for a unique perspective.

HIGHLIGHTS IN NORTHEAST ARIZONA: For a profound experience Navajo Monument Valley Add your travel planner on the road. Discover the rock formations, hills, plateaus and canyons in this peaceful valley. Some these towers pierce the sky like needles (excellent photo op). PREMIUM SIDE-TRIPS: Further west, but well worth the 3 hour drive and a half is Lake Powell popular pool / pier. And there are only 2 ½ hours of viewing southern edge of the Grand Canyon, a spectacular natural environment.

HIGHLIGHTS Southeast Utah: This is where you find the "Old West". The bandits, cattle rustlers, bandits, and representatives of law that justice monitoring all calls of this part of Utah their home.
