Fishing in daytime during summer is difficult due to increased temperature. Cooler environment at night is very tempting for experienced anglers. However, night fishing requires a detailed planning. Only a methodical preparation can make your memorable one otherwise, it will be disastrous. The objective of this article is to explain you how you can fish effectively at night and what kind of groundwork you need to do for that.

Night fishing is hazardous. Hence, you first need to consider safety of yourself and your friend. You should not plan for a trip if there is a forecast of rain and storm. Moreover, you need to use moon light strategically to have grand success in night fishing. Best secret of catching fish at night is watching moon. During full moon, you can trace the shadows of trees or rocks. Fishes are available in those dark areas. You need to make your strategy based on shadow, water temperature and equipments.

Smell and movement are the two keys for night fishing. This implies that fish must sense either wounded prey moving or they must sense the smell of food.

You should check your boat and tackle box thoroughly, making sure everything is in proper order and secure. You should carry plenty of lures, line, extra rod & reel, etc. A pair of needle nose pliers is extremely useful in night since it is harder to see your line at night than during the day, you have a greater chance of hooking the fish deeper than usual with the delayed reaction time. I know several anglers carry mobile phones because it can literally save your life if you get into trouble. It's true you may not good coverage everywhere. Still you have the plan for the worst and hope for the best. Be prepared for everything.

Accident like snake bite or hooked by your buddy's cast can happen any time so it's safer to carry first-aid box.
