Harley-Davidson: The Whole Story

Harley-Davidson has been in production since 1903. The brand offers a variety of styles for men and women. During that models of this brand of bike is more expensive also the reputation of being reliable and well built. Harley-Davidson is well known for power behind them as they originally built as a racing bike.

Sales of motorcycles were slow at first. The cylinder motorcycle in 1903 sold quickly but in 1905 they had sold only 11. He continued to improve their designs, and it was worth. In 1908, he sold 154. Been decided to move production of a farm in a small factory and hired 20 employees. The bar and shield logo that graces each Harley-Davidson was introduced in 1910.

In 1912, the company was thriving. There were 200 dealers in the United States and Japan was demanding more motorcycles and more. In 1914, almost all motorcycles on the circuit Harley-Davidson was, since it can run all other brands on the market. More than 20,000 motorcycles were sold to the army and used in the war. Nobody was surprised when in 1918 Harley-Davidson became the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world.

From 1940 to 1945, consumers are very disappointed because it was almost impossible to buy a Harley-Davidson. That's because the company had signed another contract with the U.S. military, motorcycles for war supplies. However, this advantage for the 1950s were a difficult time for Harley-Davidson that many consumers are tired of waiting and began to buy other motorcycle brands. In 1957, when Harley-Davidson was back at the top with the introduction of the Sportster.

Minor changes in style and design motorcycles took place through the early 1980s. Harley-Davidson decided significant changes were in order. They introduced a model that included a five-speed transmission called the FLT. It also replaced the drive train with a belt. The twin engine was introduced in 1984.

Harley-Davidson has always been proud of the consumers of their products. He has earned the respect of many owners in 1987 when it introduced its Buy Back Program. This allowed customers to obtain the value Total market when they came to buy a new model.
