How to Fix Common Brother Inkjet Printer & Printer Cartridge Problems

You’ve just finished typing up a document you need for work or school. Now you need to print that document. You select “Print” and expect to have your freshly printed pages neatly ejected from your machine flawlessly. Unfortunately, things don’t work that way. When problems happen, you might feel frustrated enough to toss the printer in the trash. Instead, consider fixing the problem yourself.

Runs Out of Ink Quickly

A common problem many people may face with their Brother printers is that they run out of ink quickly. That means you could end up having just changed the ink cartridges than going to print only to find out that you’re running on empty again. The cause of this issue is that Brother Printers are continually cleaning the inkjets and this ends up wasting a lot of ink.

Stops Working Suddenly

When your Brother printer stops working all of a sudden, you should think first about what changes you have made to your system that might have caused the problem. For example, if you have recently upgraded to Vista, your printer may not work unless you download a different driver that is compatible with the new operating system. Vertical Smudges

If you start seeing vertical smudges on the pages that you have printed, your first place to look for problems is the printer ink cartridges. They may be running low on ink. While you can do this yourself by purchasing the drum which costs more than $100, you may want to consider purchasing a new printer, especially if you’ve had the Brother printer for a long time.

Error Messages

Receiving error messages can be frustrating when you’re trying to print because they rarely make sense to the average user. Your best option is to pull out the manual or browse the online manual to find out what that specific error message means for the printer.

Another way to check your printer is by asking other people who are using the same printer to attempt to print a document, too. If no one can get the printer to work, you may want to do troubleshooting at the printer level. If only you cannot print, the problem is probably with your connection.

Brothers from Another [Clean] $11.14 Brothers From Another, the second Young Gunz album, often feels like it's as much of a mixtape as Get in Where You Fit In, an actual mixtape released by Young Chris and Neef during the tail end of 2004. Production-wise, it's all over the place, so it's rarely boring, if occasionally aimless. In the wake of Tough Luv's softer moments, such as the major hit "No Better Love," it's obvious that the duo want to come off harder, perhaps wanting to avoid Cassidy syndrome. (For some longtime rap fans, Tough Luv might've also sparked flashbacks of 2nd II None and Nice & Smooth, two other duos with sounds as smooth as their images.) The more serious and even sobering tracks, often packing aggression and a little menace, stand out most; "Beef," "It's the Life," and "We Still Here" show how Young Gunz have grown in a short amount of time. And all three come during the latter half of the album, the point where Tough Luv lagged and lacked. On these tracks, they sound convincingly hungry and desperate, not afraid to break a sweat. The first half also has its moments. "Set It Off" -- adrenalized deep throbs and handclaps delivered by Swizz Beatz -- and "Same Shit Different Day" -- disorienting deep throbs and handclaps delivered by Chad Hamilton -- are two of the album's best productions, though a few others deserve mention. Just to make sure the fans gained by "No Better Love" won't be lost, a dash of softer songs round out the bangers. "Grown Man, Pt. 2," featuring Kanye West and John Legend, is in the expected soul-dipped territory; on the other side, "Don't Keep Me Waiting" and "The Way It Goes" are two slightly jarring shots at exhuming the trebly side of mid-'80s R&B. Expect Young Gunz to command a greater amount of respect. They're no longer a singles group. The Brothers $9.58 The music on this disc recalls the airy "Four Brothers" sound that tenor saxophonists Stan Getz, Zoot Sims, and Herbie Steward, and baritone saxophonist Serge Charloff, plied in Woody Herman's band of 1947. For this outing, Steward and Charloff exit, and four become five with the addition of tenor luminaries Al Cohn, Brew Moore, and Allen Eager. The set appropriately kicks off with Gerry Mulligan's "Five Brothers," a tune reminiscent of Jimmy Giuffre's original "Four Brothers" in its fluid and bouncy arrangement. Three other attractive and similarly disposed originals (one more by Mulligan and two by Cohn) complete the saxophone session from 1949, all featuring swinging statements by each soloist. A 1952 sextet date led by Sims and Cohn is also included, offering up another round of original and buoyantly swinging cuts, bolstered by lively contributions from trombonist Kai Winding and solid rhythmic support by pianist George Wallington, bassist Percy Heath, and drummer Art Blakey. A fine release that nicely showcases the cool, proto-West Coast bop forged by both these soloists and Miles Davis.
