Treat Shill bidding is a 21st century version of a confidence game. The purpose of rigging bids for purchase of goods at a price artificially low, which can then be resold at wholesale prices. They are either two different buyers or buyer who has two different IDs eBay.

Shill bidding is often easy to detect and is usually more successful with an inexperienced seller who does not know what to look for.
