I want a comfortable bike, with as little forward lean as possible, good mpg and can travel on the gravel. I take it everywhere and the speed is a minor factor. I know the competition and the Honda ST1300, I do not know what is best or if there is someone who is better than both? Thank you!

Have a look at a BMW R1200 GS or a Suzuki DL1000 VSTROM. Both handle extremely well on land and asphault, get good MPG and be based on 90 mph all day. The 2 bikes you listed would be hopeless on dirt roads.
